Annual Mesta Festa fundraiser set for September 20
Festival offers afternoon filled with beer and wine tastings, live music, family activities and more
OKLAHOMA CITY (September 2, 2014) – Residents of one Oklahoma City neighborhood are encouraging families to celebrate the official end to summer during Mesta Festa. In its 19th year, this annual celebration and fundraiser features local breweries, pubs and a winery, local food vendors, live music, family activities, and a chili cook-off.
Megan Jester, Mesta Festa co-chairwoman, says the event aims to provide a festive, varied experience for all ages while raising funds for the Mesta Park Neighborhood Association.
“Mesta Festa showcases not only the vibrant spirit of our unique neighborhood, but it also highlights the diverse businesses and community partners found in and around our area,” said Jester. “We have great supporters in the many businesses in the downtown and Uptown 23rd areas. I hope the community will make plans to join us and continue this tradition of our ‘party in the park.’”
The 19th annual Mesta Festa takes place Saturday, Sept. 20 from noon to 6 p.m. at Perle Mesta Park, located at NW 18th and Shartel Ave. Started in 1995, Mesta Festa is one of two public events held annually to raise funds for the Mesta Park Neighborhood Association. Mesta Park’s other fundraiser, the Holiday Home Tour, will take place in December. Funds raised through the events benefit the Mesta Park Neighborhood Association and its projects.
