MPNA General Membership Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, December 5th, 2006 6:45 p.m.

- Welcome. The monthly meeting was convened by President Terri White at 6:50pm.
- Approval of Minutes. The minutes from November 2006 were approved upon a motion from Karen Zimmer and a second by JB Schuelein.
- Items from the President
- PlanFirst Grant Program -- Scott Reed agreed to find out more about this program so that we would be able to discuss it at the next meeting.
- Margaret Annis Boys Trust Grant -- Raina Pelofsky and Terri White indicated that the neighborhood plans to express a letter of interest in this grant program. Discussion will take place at the next meeting about what project should be targeted with this grant program. JB Schuelein also mentioned another possibility of a grant from the community foundation.
- Treasurer's Report. Karen Zimmer moved and Mike Menser seconded the motion to approve the Treasurer's report as submitted. The motion passed without discussion.
- Standing Committee Reports.
- Home Tour. JB Schuelein reported that this year's Home Tour was financially the second best ever, though he noted that it did pale in comparison to last year's.
- Parks. JB Schuelein had nothing new to report other than to reiterate the significance of the Margaret Annis Boys Trust to potentially help the park.
- Security. No security report was presented.
- Sidewalks. Mike Menser reported that the sidewalk matching program remains open and applications are still being accepted.
- Historic Preservation. Mike Menser reported that the house at 811 18th street has been approved for a project. Also, that the expansion at Wilson School is currently undergoing the process of acquiring a CA for their work.
- Awards. Karen Zimmer reported that we are in the middle of selecting a Christmas decoration award winner but the selection has not yet been made.
- Block Captains. No block captains report was submitted.
- Social. Terri White reminded us that the January neighborhood meeting is the neighborhood potluck. That will take place on January 2nd at the Sunbeam Family Home.
- Newcomers. No newcomers report was submitted.
- Old Business
- New Business
- Terri White mentioned the OCPD Neighborhood Alliance is asking for our help in their accreditation process. Our part in this process will be discussed at the January meeting.
- JB Schuelein reported progress on the renovation at 23rd street around the Tower Theatre and that there is going to be major investment in that area. We could possibly have a presentation about the plans for this at a future neighborhood meeting.
- The meeting adjourned at 7:20pm
