Mesta Park resident Christopher Cook’s narrative short film REGRET has been selected from almost 400 entries for inclusion in the deadCENTER Film Festival to be held in downtown Oklahoma City June 6-10, 2007. The film will screen at the newly-renovated Skirvin Hotel on Friday June 8th at 7:30 p.m. This is the world premiere of Cook’s film that examines the downhill spiral of a drug addict.
“We wanted to make a film that was well done, but inexpensive to make,” said Cook who directed, shot and edited the film. “We also wanted our viewers to be amazed the film was done by two first-time filmmakers.”
With a budget of just $75, two-thirds of which went to license music, the two believe they have achieved their goals. Mr. Towery who served as the film's producer agrees and adds, “This will not be our only film. Now that we have jumped that first hurdle, the rest of them don’t look all that big.”
deadCENTER runs from Wednesday, June 6 through Sunday, June 10. For more info: www.deadcenterfilm.com
